In 1979, Paul and Robin Vance purchased the filter division of Bemis Corp. and started Filtration Systems Products, Inc. (FSP) to manufacture and market knitted dust bags. FSP has become a leading distributor of filtration products thanks to expanding quality product lines, nurturing mutually beneficial partnerships, and, most importantly, hiring knowledgeable employees who share a passion for customer satisfaction.
The Vance Holdings, Inc. Family of Companies
FSP was the third business added to the Vance Holdings, Inc. family of companies. As a Monsanto engineer in 1966, Paul Vance pioneered a new fire-resistant hydraulic oil, Skydrol, and launched Aviation Fluid Services (AFS), Inc.
Six years later, the Vances created Fire Safe Products and a patented fire-resistant material, Durette, to respond to the growing need for military and space project flame-retardant garments and supplies.
The Vances established FSP in 1979 and, in 1994, purchased Thomas B. Moore, Co. – a leading adhesive coating supplier – to expand AFS’ product line.
